Operating Status
February 23, 2026 | 12:30 p.m.
While the university remains open, classes and work operations will continue to be remote, where possible, for Tuesday, February 24, to ensure the safety of our community and continuity of operations.
The following changes will be made to the operating status at Rutgers Health for Tuesday, February 24:
- To the extent possible, classes will transition to online—in either synchronous or asynchronous mode. Instructors should contact their students with updates and specific guidance.
- Clinical operations remain open and clinical faculty and staff should follow the guidance from their respective hospital and practice leadership.
- Department heads are asked to allow remote work where feasible.
- Employees deemed essential will be advised where and when to report by their supervisors.
- University bus operations across all campuses will be suspended until road conditions are deemed safe for travel.
- University Libraries' buildings will be closed. Instruction and reference services will pivot to fully remote. Students and faculty will continue to have full access to online resources to support their learning and teaching activities. Check the libraries website for more information.
University crews are diligently working to clear roads, pathways, and parking lots across our campuses. Continue to check rutgers.edu/status and the Rutgers Health Operating Status page for further updates and take all recommended actions to ensure your safety during hazardous winter conditions.
